“When we drop her off in the mornings she is so happy which makes us as parents feel happy and it’s all because of the amazing staff that are there.”

The Wallaby Difference begins with family

The Wallaby Way
It’s simple: Our people enjoy being part of the Wallaby family. They feel valued, supported, and connected to our vision, and that’s why so many choose to stay and grow with us for many years.
Many of our Centre Directors have been part of the Wallaby Childcare journey since our earliest days, and a large number of our educators have been with us for many years. This continuity allows them to build genuine connections with the children in their care, as well as their siblings and families. They know each child’s story, celebrate their milestones, and become a trusted extension of each family’s support network.
So, how do we attract and retain the best people? We invest in them. At Wallaby Childcare, we encourage our team members to continue developing their skills, expand their qualifications, and build rewarding careers within our organisation. Every team member participates in ongoing professional development throughout the year, with many choosing to further their learning beyond these opportunities.
We are proud to invest in highly qualified educators because we believe exceptional care begins with exceptional people. We value expertise, commitment, and the positive difference our team makes in the lives of children and families every day.
At Wallaby Childcare, child safety is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, protection, and wellbeing, with robust practices and procedures aligned with Child Safe Standards guiding our approach across every centre.
All of our educators hold the required early childhood education qualifications at the degree, diploma, or certificate level, with many undertaking further study and achieving higher-level qualifications. Every team member holds a current Working with Children Check and completes comprehensive first aid training, including CPR, anaphylaxis, and asthma response.
Our commitment to safety extends across every aspect of our operations. Our chefs hold appropriate food safety qualifications, and all staff complete annual food handling training as part of our Food Safety Plan. Through ongoing training, rigorous processes, and a culture of vigilance, we ensure children are cared for in environments where their safety, health, and wellbeing are always the highest priority.
Growing Together with Care and Purpose

More than purpose-built, we build for every purpose

As one of the only local operators with an in-house construction group, Wallaby Childcare is uniquely positioned to purpose-build centres for the individual needs of our children and staff.
Every Wallaby Childcare centre is designed in consultation with our leadership team and the Centre Director to provide their dream features. This means our centres are as unique as our children – with everything from outdoor classrooms, to bespoke play-gyms, to our famous Big Red Barn.
In every Wallaby Childcare centre you’ll find individual rooms to cater for Babies, Toddlers, Pre-Kinder children and Kindergarteners. Our centres are designed to grow and adapt with our programs, the seasons and our children’s changing interests. Indoor-outdoor learning is a key focus in every centre with window-walled rooms that blur the boundaries between inside and out, and gardens that shade in summer and shelter in winter. Changing gender and cultural mixes are met with customised play equipment, and under-loved spaces are regularly re-configured to provide exciting new adventures.
Access to Our Staff Means Accountability for Your Children
Here at Wallaby Childcare, the People in Charge,
Take Charge of Your Concerns
Family-run with the same trusted leadership team in place since the very beginning, Wallaby Childcare has a uniquely accessible structure. Our business has a clear chain of management from the professionals caring for your children, to the Directors overseeing the centre, to our key leaders …direct to the owner of the business.
This means a consistent chain of communication that enables parents to be heard at even the highest level. Just as importantly, it means a consistent management approach for our staff that provides the best support in their mission to care for your children.

Fresh Food From Real Chefs for Healthy Children

At Wallaby Childcare, we understand that every child’s dietary needs are unique. That’s why we take a personalised approach to every meal, carefully accommodating allergies and intolerances, respecting cultural and religious practices, and supporting individual dietary preferences. Our goal is to ensure every child feels included, safe, and well-nourished at mealtimes.
Good nutrition is an important part of every child’s day, which is why every Wallaby Childcare centre has a qualified cook on-site preparing fresh meals and nutritious snacks each day.
Our cooks are passionate about creating food that children enjoy while supporting their health and wellbeing. They are experienced in planning rotating seasonal menus for children aged six weeks to six years and are skilled at catering for a wide range of allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements without compromising on flavour or variety.
Wherever possible, we source fresh ingredients from local suppliers because we believe great food starts with quality produce and supports the communities we’re part of. From fresh fruit and vegetables to locally baked bread and authentic ingredients that reflect the diversity of our families, every meal is thoughtfully prepared with care. It’s all part of creating healthy eating habits and giving children the energy they need to learn, play, and thrive.

A Welcoming Environment for All!
Our children come from many different cultures, backgrounds and family experiences. They bring a wide range of strengths, abilities and perspectives making our community richer and more connected.
At Wallaby Childcare, our team members come from the communities we serve. They represent a range of ages, genders, backgrounds and family experiences, bringing diverse perspectives and strengths to our centres.
Our educators are thoughtfully selected on a centre-by-centre basis, ensuring each team reflects and connects with the families, cultures and communities that make up its unique environment.
At Wallaby Childcare, our commitment to inclusion means actively embracing and responding to the many ways children experience diversity in their everyday lives.
From a curriculum that recognises each child’s unique strengths, abilities and learning goals, to access to interpreter support through FKA Children’s Services, and opportunities for families to share their cultures, talents and experiences, we create an environment where every child and family feels valued, respected and welcomed.
At Wallaby Childcare, every child belongs and every family has a place.
