Starting out in the sector in 2015, Katie’s passion for Early Childhood Education developed quickly. She soon undertook a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care, qualifyied as part of the management team in 2018, and ultimately moved into the dual roles of Educational Leader and Assistant Director in 2022. Passionate about children and the way they learn, Katie’s philosophy is grounded in the Reggio Emilia Approach, and informed by the concepts of Environment as a Third Teacher, and the 100 Languages of Children.

In applying these philosophies, Katie has built a career around solid relationships, a strong community, and the ‘home away from home’ that Wallaby Childcare provides. This continues into Katie’s own home, where as the mother of 3 young children (and an avid gardener), her focus is on experiences that seed resilience, grow learning, and allow children to bloom in their own unique way.
